You could say Eastern Arizona College is in the middle of nowhere. Three hours from Phoenix and four hours from El Paso resides Thatcher, Arizona, home to EAC. Originally designed to service only its immediate county, the college gained an opening to expand its enrollment base as Arizona’s higher ed landscape shifted. Like every institution today, they are in a constant fight for enrollment, students, and funding in a saturated market.
We approached this challenge with a comprehensive digital strategy, starting with an updated web presence followed by an integrated marketing and content campaign. We built the brand strategy upon the college’s unique location. Thatcher isn’t on the way to anything; if you’re there, it’s because it was the destination. Named “Destination EA,” our campaign took inspiration from tourism marketing to highlight the college’s distinct positioning: extreme affordability, small class sizes, and a tight-knit rural environment.
